Our Commitment To Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.
The Information We Collect and the Way We Use Information
Reasoning Mind may collect basic identifying information from Users, including but not limited to name, email address, and telephone number. For Users that access or use the Software, Reasoning Mind may collect other identifying information, including login information and password, and postal address. Reasoning Mind may collect the above information, for example, during the account registration process or through forms you voluntarily submit to us. During the account registration process, Reasoning Mind requires a process to verify parental consent to the registration of your student to participate in a Reasoning Mind program or use Reasoning Mind Software, including consent to the collection of your student’s personal information (e.g., first and last name, student ID number) for registration purposes. Names and usernames of students may be used to personalize or customize a student’s participation in a Reasoning Mind program or use of Reasoning Mind Software, including tracking student progress, generating reports, and providing other related metrics.
Reasoning Mind may collect information regarding the usage of the Website and Software, such as a User’s IP address, web browser information, pages or areas visited within the Website or Software, and what time said pages and areas are visited. When you or your student(s) participate in a Reasoning Mind program or use Reasoning Mind Software, we will automatically collect information about Software usage patterns, order history, session data, and other related information regarding you and your student(s). Reasoning Mind may also collect information related to a student’s interactions with a Reasoning Mind program or Reasoning Mind Software, including lessons or modules completed or started, time spent on a particular lesson or module, responses to questions, and questions submitted through our system (including through open response chat or email features). Such information is used to track or analyze student progress, and to improve student experience within the Reasoning Mind program or Reasoning Mind Software.
From Users who send e-mail inquiries to Reasoning Mind or request information from Reasoning Mind, certain personal information you provide will be used only for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. E-mail addresses of Users who send such inquiries are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.
Reasoning Mind may collect information that Users submit to the Website or Software, such as comments, questions, or any data, text, links, video files, photos, or any other content posted by Users (collectively, the “User Content”).
In addition, Reasoning Mind may collect information such as name, phone number, email address and desired position from Users applying for a job via the Website’s “Careers” page. Reasoning Mind also collects information contained on resumes or other application documents voluntarily uploaded or sent by job applicants, as well as any information or documentation sent to Reasoning Mind via email.
Reasoning Mind may use certain third party payment processors (“Payment Processors”) to process personal financial information such as name, phone number, address, postal code, and credit card or bank account information for the purposes of allowing Users to purchase various items via the Website, including but not limited to Software, or to make donations via the “Donate” page (collectively, the “Online Purchases”). This information is provided directly to such Payment Processors by Users, and Reasoning Mind does not store this information on its servers or computer systems. Such information is used solely for the purpose of allowing Users to make Online Purchases. The names of Users who make donations via the “Donate” page may be added to a donors list. We do not share information other than your name with outside parties. If you wish to remain anonymous you need only to note that information and we shall list you as so.
Reasoning Mind may collect information such as name and email address from Users who sign up for any publications, blogs, or newsletters provided to you directly by Reasoning Mind, including through our “Blog” and “Newsletter” pages. Reasoning Mind also collects other information voluntarily provided by such subscribers to Reasoning Mind via email or via any sign-up or opt-in pages of the Website.
From Users who use Reasoning Mind’s live web-based or online tutoring sessions, Reasoning Mind may collect personal information from such Users, such as User voice audio and video.
- To store information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the Website.
- To deliver custom, personalized content and information.
- To identify you when you access, visit, or log in to the Website or Software.
- To note the different areas of the Website which have recently been accessed through your computer. Information collected in this way may be used to develop and manage the online services of Reasoning Mind by, for example, storing information about your preferences so as to enable Reasoning Mind to customize the Website according to your individual interests.
- To monitor the effectiveness of any promotions or marketing campaigns by Reasoning Mind or its affiliates.
- To track your entries, submissions, and status in promotions, sweepstakes, and contests.

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our Website and to share with sponsors. For example, we may tell a sponsor that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.
Disclosure and Sharing of Information
The information Reasoning Mind collects is used to respond to inquiries, improve the content of the Website and Software (including various curricula and lessons), allow classroom instructors and teachers to track the progress of Users using the Software, provide feedback to Users using the Software, collaborate with academic researchers, fill open positions within Reasoning Mind’s organization, facilitate promotions, sweepstakes and contests, and to provide information to Reasoning Mind and its affiliates for their respective business purposes.
Other than for Reasoning Mind’s marketing purposes, Reasoning Mind does not use your email address or other personal information to send commercial or marketing messages without your consent. Reasoning Mind also does not permit behavioral targeting of advertisements. Reasoning Mind may use your name, usage history and email address without further consent for non-marketing or administrative purposes (such as notifying you of major updates, customer service needs, or items for which you have requested communication).
Ownership and Storage of Information
Reasoning Mind will store unaggregated, un-anonymized personal data until: (1) Reasoning Mind is required to delete such data under applicable law (such as COPPA); (2) Reasoning Mind receives an opt-out request as to such personal data; or (3) in the case of a school or school district, twelve (12) months after the expiration of all contracts between such school or school district and Reasoning Mind. Reasoning Mind may store aggregated and anonymized personal data indefinitely. Reasoning Mind and its affiliates also reserve the right to delete such information for any reason and for no reason. Reasoning Mind has implemented commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration or disclosure. However, Reasoning Mind cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat those measures or use your personal information for improper purposes. You acknowledge that you provide your personal information at your own risk. RM and its affiliates also assume no responsibility for deletion of personal information in the ordinary course of business or in the course of carrying out any RM data retention or data backup policies.
Transfer of Information
Our Commitment to Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Such procedures include HTTPS encryption of data in transit and sent between you and Reasoning Mind.
Although Reasoning Mind takes reasonable measures to ensure the security of the data you may choose to provide Reasoning Mind from loss or misuse, unfortunately the transmission of data through the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Neither Reasoning Mind, nor its affiliates, nor any of their respective employees, officers or agents or the provider of the internet services on behalf of Reasoning Mind (nor any other person involved in the management or establishment of the Website or Software) can give any representation or warranty as to the absolute security of the data transmitted using the Website or Software and cannot give any guarantee that such data will not be compromised by bad actors. If you choose to provide data to or allow collection of data by Reasoning Mind, any of its affiliates, or any of their respective officers, directors or employees, agents, or independent contractors, then you do so understanding the aforementioned risk.
Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we only collect minimal information —either directly from those parents who wish to enroll their children in a Reasoning Mind program or use Reasoning Mind Software, or in the case of schools and school districts offering Reasoning Mind programs and Software on behalf of Reasoning Mind, indirectly from such parents. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order. Reasoning Mind does not knowingly solicit any personal information directly from, nor does Reasoning Mind knowingly use or disclose personal information of, children under the age of 13. If Reasoning Mind is made aware that Reasoning Mind has collected personal information from a child under 13 years old in a manner that is inconsistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of the United States (“COPPA”), then Reasoning Mind will delete this information as soon as practicable. In compliance with COPPA, Reasoning Mind is required to seek (or in the case of schools and school districts offering Reasoning Mind programs and Software on behalf of Reasoning Mind, such entities are required to obtain) parental consent from parents or guardians of students who participate in an Reasoning Mind program or use Reasoning Mind Software. Such consent authorizes Reasoning Mind to collect and use personal information of students under the age of 13. If you register a student under the age of 13 to participate in an Reasoning Mind program or use Reasoning Mind Software, Reasoning Mind will require (or in the case of schools and school districts offering Reasoning Mind programs and Software on behalf of Reasoning Mind, such entities will require) you to submit such consent—you must be the parent or guardian of such student to grant such consent. You may revoke your consent at any time by following the instructions in the “Opt-Out Requests” section below.
Any personal information from children under the age of 13 that is collected indirectly by Reasoning Mind via school districts or individual schools is done solely to provide services to such school districts or individual schools, as well as the individual students at such districts and schools. Reasoning Mind requires such school districts and individual schools to comply with COPPA.
Third Party Websites
In order for Reasoning Mind to provide your student with access to Reasoning Mind programs and Reasoning Mind Software, Reasoning Mind will ask you (or in the case of schools and school districts offering Reasoning Mind programs and Software on behalf of Reasoning Mind, such entities will ask you) to consent to Reasoning Mind’s collection and use of certain personal information of your student in limited ways. If you are the parent or guardian of such student, you will be required to submit a verified parental consent, authorizing such collection and use.
How You Can Access or Correct Your Information
If you are listed as a Reasoning Mind donor, you can correct any errors in your information by sending us a request. View the Current Supporters page. All Users and parents may view, verify, and change or update other information previously provided (including information provided by a parent’s student) to Reasoning Mind by contacting Reasoning Mind via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or via regular mail at the address listed below in the “How to Contact Us” section. Such change may be subject to a fee paid by you to cover Reasoning Mind’s costs.
You may also submit an opt-out request to Reasoning Mind via e-mail at email@example.com or via regular mail at the address listed below in the “How to Contact Us” section, revoking your consent to allow your student to participate in an Reasoning Mind program or use Reasoning Mind Software, or to allow Reasoning Mind to collect any personal information from such student. You may submit such request at any time, and Reasoning Mind will not retain any unaggregated, non-anonymized personal information of your student. Note that once an opt-out request is submitted, Reasoning Mind may limit you and your student’s ability to use any Reasoning Mind program or Reasoning Mind Software if and until you opt-in to and consent to collection of your student’s personal information. After an opt-out request is submitted, you and your student may not provide any further personal information to Reasoning Mind.
