Student using Reasoning Mind Blueprint for early math

Funding and management assistance from NewSchools Venture Fund will fuel efforts to create exceptional early learning tools for PreK-2nd grade.

Houston, TX, November 8 – Reasoning Mind is proud to announce its selection as a member of the Fall 2017 Ignite cohort at NewSchools Venture Fund.

Reasoning Mind is one of 15 ed tech companies awarded funding through the NewSchools Ignite Early Learning Challenge. Each cohort member is committed to create or expand an innovative ed tech product to help millions of students across the country in PreK-2nd grade. In addition to the funding, NewSchools will provide management assistance and create a community of practice for the cohort members.

Reasoning Mind is helping students in PreK-1st grade succeed in math through the use of their early learning program, Blueprint. A supplemental, blended learning program, Blueprint helps students in PreK-1st grade, building the conceptual understanding of math concepts that is essential to future success in mathematics. The rigorous curriculum covers numbers, operations, geometry, spatial sense, logical reasoning, measurement, algebraic thinking, and solving word problems.

“Reasoning Mind’s mission is to provide a first-rate math education to every child,” said Alex Khachatryan, CEO and Co-Founder of Reasoning Mind, “and a first-rate math education starts in the earliest years of learning. That’s why we created Reasoning Mind Blueprint; to help students in PreK, kindergarten, and the 1st grade develop the strong foundation they need to succeed in mathematics. We’re excited to carry out our mission with the support of NewSchools Venture Fund.”

“NewSchools Ignite is rooted in research, and we always start by talking to people in the field who are doing this work,” said Tonika Cheek Clayton, managing partner, NewSchools Venture Fund. “We heard from both educators and ed tech developers about the lack of high-quality tools to support academic and social development for young students.  They also emphasized the importance of limiting the hours spent on devices and promoting interaction with parents and teachers. Given the importance of these early years, NewSchools Ignite is thrilled to invest in Reasoning Mind to develop engaging tools to reimagine early learning.”
