DuBose-Randle has served as the principal of Red Elementary School in Houston, TX for the past 8 years – and that’s just the most recent chapter of her 23-year career in education. She’s been using Reasoning Mind at her school for quite some time, and working with her has given us the chance to see just how much she deserves this award. She exhibits thoughtful leadership when it comes to all aspects of her school, whether it be using new programs in the classroom or leading her teachers through both direction and example. Her school is well-run, warm, and welcoming; she creates a supportive culture that embraces students and the community alike.

The NABSE Awards recognize distinguished individuals who have made national and international contributions to the education of African-American educators and learners. Dr. DuBose-Randle has had a huge impact on her students, her teachers, and her community. We look forward to continuing to work with her and Red Elementary to bring a strong math education to every student there!
