Reasoning Mind Celebrates AmeriCorps’ 20-Year Anniversary

September 12, 2014

Today, Reasoning Mind employees are honoring community service and dedication in honor of the 20th anniversary of AmeriCorps.

More than 900,000 citizens have contributed more than a billion hours in community since 1994. With many AmeriCorps alumni on staff, we appreciate the diverse experiences and community values AmeriCorps instills in its members. Many came to Reasoning Mind after completing two years of service; the experience prepared them well for the difficulties in working in the K-12 school system.

Diedre Douglas is the executive director of the North Texas region for Reasoning Mind. “In addition to teaching Social Studies, I worked with teachers to integrate technology into the classroom.  It was a natural transition to Reasoning Mind, where I continued to collaborate with teachers and administrators.  My service only solidified my commitment to ensuring all students had access to a high quality education,” Diedre said. She served with AmeriCorps via Teach for America from 2003 to 2005.

Here’s to 20 years of service, dedication, and getting things done for America!
