Michael Collier
Managing Director, Transaction Advisory Services
Michael Collier is a Managing Director in the Houston office of Duff & Phelps and part of the Transaction Advisory service line. He has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, having served in an operating role at Exxon, as the CFO of an E&P company, and as a partner in PwC’s Energy practice.

In 1998 Mike helped launch, and ultimately lead, PwC’s Energy Transaction Services practice where he executed due diligence assignments for such clients as Riverstone, First Reserve, Goldman Sachs Investment Partners, SCF Partners, Morgan Stanley, BP, Statoil, Halliburton, Schlumberger, National Oilwell Varco, Cameron, KBR, DCP Midstream, and many other energy and petrochemical clients.

Before joining PwC, Mike worked in Exxon’s Gulf Coast Division as a Landman.

After retiring from PwC, Mike was the CFO of Layline Petroleum, a Goldman Sachs Investment Partners portfolio company which he helped grow through acquisition and monetize through a corporate sale. He then served as CFO of Cascade Production, a Riverstone-backed management team evaluating investment opportunities in the deep water Gulf of Mexico. Mike joined Duff & Phelps in 2016 to build a buy- and sell-side due diligence practice focused on oil and gas industry.

Mike holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a BBA in Petroleum Land Management, also from UT. He is a Texas Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Financial Executive's institute.
