“I would tell a school district that’s looking at adopting Reasoning Mind that it is probably the single best choice they will make in math curriculum. There’s a lot of job satisfaction with Reasoning Mind, as a start. Teachers feel like their students are really learning; they feel like they’ve been given the tools to do the job, and they’re seeing the results on their test scores. They’re seeing students who understand math.”
– Gayle Fallon, President, Houston Federation of Teachers
“Reasoning Mind has rolled out an online learning system for grade school math. It gives each student a lesson that adjusts moment-to-moment, based on what she’s getting right and what she’s getting wrong. It’s a continuous progress check without the pressure of a test. Teachers can follow the program, supplement it, or override it – and they can instantly view reports on how each child is doing.”
– Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft and Co-Chairman of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
“Reasoning Mind offers a true education reform product as it ensures each student is exposed to all aspects of a strong curriculum, it leverages the strengths of the teacher, and it produces real gains in math proficiency among a wide range of students. Reasoning Mind is based on modern technology, which aligns well with ExxonMobil’s reputation as a technology leader.”
– Gerald McElvy, Retired President, ExxonMobil Foundation
“It’s quite possible that Reasoning Mind could provide significant impetus towards the improvement of teaching and learning of mathematics in the middle grades… The pieces (of the RM curriculum) that I have viewed seemed mathematically sound and also seemed designed to attract both teachers and students.”
– Paul Sally, Professor, University of Chicago
“Reasoning Mind provides the kind of technology that is ideally suited to meet the needs of a diverse group of students — challenging the very best and nurturing the majority, who need special attention.”
– Neal Lane, Professor, Rice University, and former Science Advisor to the President of the United States
“Reasoning Mind’s combination of fun characters, interactive software, and the application of ground-breaking education theory will change the way math and science are taught and is an exciting new option for educators to improve math education.”
– Walter Ulrich, CEO, Houston Technology Center
“It is safe to say that Reasoning Mind is the only program of any kind in this country that presents the mathematics of first through 6th grade in the same coherent, clear way that is done in the high-achieving countries.”
– R. James Milgram, Professor Emeritus, Mathematics, Stanford University
“I have looked at the discussion of whole numbers in Reasoning Mind, and I found it to be engaging, persuasive, and most importantly, mathematically sound and informative. Whole numbers are the foundation piece of school mathematics; if school districts want to increase students’ mathematics achievement, they should consider using Reasoning Mind.”
– Hung-Hsi Wu, Professor Emeritus, Mathematics, University of California, Berkeley
