Central Texas Regional Board Launch

Reasoning Mind, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that develops effective and engaging online learning math programs, is launching a board for Austin and San Antonio.

SAN ANTONIO, TX—Reasoning Mind launched its first regional board in Central Texas recently, strengthening the nonprofit’s ability to support math education throughout Austin, San Antonio, and the surrounding regions.

For over a decade, Reasoning Mind has developed online math curricula and helped educators effectively implement those curricula in classrooms. A key ingredient of the nonprofit’s success has been working with schools and districts to meet their individual needs. The Central Texas Regional Board has been established to better meet the region’s needs, building connections between Reasoning Mind, Central Texas educators, and everyone else wanting to improve the area’s math education programs.

“Reasoning Mind is working with educators in Central Texas to provide students with the best math education possible,” said James Talarico, Reasoning Mind’s Executive Director for Central Texas. “We’re eager to start building on this work with our new regional board, so we can help even more Texas children master mathematics.”

James isn’t alone in his excitement. The Central Texas Regional Board includes members from a diverse set of backgrounds: The Najim Family Foundation President Harvey Najim, City of San Antonio Workforce and Education Administrator Ana Acevedo, and Deloitte LLP Partner Nancy Mutscher, to name a few. The full list of board members is included below:

  • Mike Burke, Chair (Chair, San Antonio Education Forum; Board Member of Idea Schools, Great Hearts, and Reasoning Mind)
