Reasoning Mind is one of 78 Houston-area nonprofits selected to receive a grant from the 2017 Super Bowl charitable giving program.

HOUSTON, TX—Touchdown Houston, a charitable giving program created by the Houston Super Bowl Host Committee in partnership with the NFL Foundation, has awarded Reasoning Mind a $100,000 grant to support its work improving math education.

Touchdown Houston was created to support community enhancement projects in Houston, the host city for Super Bowl LI. Nonprofits focused on education, health, and poverty-related issues applied for grants in July 2016, with the awardees announced in early February and funding amounts revealed in April.  In total, Touchdown Houston will disburse $4 million in charitable contributions to 78 local nonprofits.

“We are proud to leave a philanthropic mark in Houston and help local organizations expand their impact on communities throughout the city,” said Executive Director of NFL Foundation, Alexia Gallagher. “The grants provided by the NFL Foundation and Houston Super Bowl Host Committee will ensure Super Bowl LI’s legacy extends beyond a game, and will help the city thrive long after a Champion is crowned.”

Reasoning Mind will use its $100,000 award to provide its digital math education programs to more students and teachers in the Houston area.

“We are beyond thrilled to receive a gift of this size from Touchdown Houston,” said Alex Khachatryan, co-founder and CEO of Reasoning Mind. “Hosting the Super Bowl was a major win for our city, and now this impact will be magnified to support many important community projects including our math programs.”
