The $180,000 donation will provide Reasoning Mind with free software licenses to several Microsoft products.

HOUSTON, TX—Reasoning Mind, a math education nonprofit serving more than 100,000 students across the U.S., will now have access to software licenses worth more than $180,000 thanks to a new donation from Microsoft Corp.

The in-kind grant comes through Microsoft’s Corporate Citizenship program, which is focused on collaborating with nonprofit and social impact organizations to provide the technology tools, training, and resources needed to create opportunities and transform communities.

Valued at more than $180,000, the software donation to Reasoning Mind will provide licenses for Microsoft products and upgrades such as Windows 10, Project Professional, Visio Professional, and more. This is the fourth major software donation by Microsoft to Reasoning Mind, which has helped the organization build out its technology infrastructure as its programs scale to reach more students and teachers across the country. In total, Microsoft’s contributions to Reasoning Mind have now surpassed $500,000.

“At Microsoft, we believe technology can do amazing things. That’s why we align ourselves with organizations like Reasoning Mind, which utilize technology effectively to improve educational outcomes for students,” said Craig Hodges, Microsoft’s General Manager in Houston. “We’re pleased to make this contribution and to continue helping Reasoning Mind achieve its important mission.”

In addition to donations to nonprofits, Microsoft also offers a discount program that allows nonprofit organizations to purchase software and license at substantially reduced costs. For more information, visit Microsoft’s Nonprofit Open License website.
