Ken Grimes

Ken Grimes is Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Herndon Capital Management, an Atlanta based institutionally focused money management firm with approximately $10 billion in assets under management. Mr. Grimes works extensively with the Herndon's portfolio managers, research analysts and traders. He also provides support to the firm's client service and marketing efforts.

Prior to joining Herndon in 2011, Mr. Grimes was Senior Vice President and Director of Research at Piedmont Investment Advisors. He also served as Director, Investment Management at EARNEST Partners, LLC, where he was a member of the equity investment team that managed approximately $15 billion. Additionally, Mr. Grimes was also an investment banker at Merrill Lynch & Co. and spent his early career as a design engineer and business development executive in the wireless telecommunications industry.

Mr. Grimes graduated magna cum laude from Morehouse College, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Physics and was also elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He also completed a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and his MBA from Harvard Business School. An ardent supporter of a STEM initiatives, Mr. Grimes is also a graduate of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, the nation's first public, residential high school where students study specialized curriculum emphasizing science and mathematics.
