W McComb (“Mac”) Dunwoody
Founder, Inverness Management LLC, and affiliates
Mr. Dunwoody founded Inverness Management, and affiliates, in 1981. With a focus on leveraged buyouts in out-of-favor industries, Inverness’ transactions included the purchase of National Oilwell from U.S. Steel Corporation, and Armco Steel; Preferred Technology Group from United Technologies, Steak & Ale Restaurant Corp. from Grand Metropolitan P. L. C. (Pillsbury), Financial Alliance Processing Services from Deluxe Corporation: PennCorp Financial Group from Primerica; and Piedmont Aviation Services from US Air Group.

Prior to starting Inverness, Mac began his professional career with The First Boston Corporation, from 1968-1973, as a member of their corporate finance department. In 1973 he joined Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) until the end of 1975 when he started the Corporate Finance Department for First City National Bank of Houston.

In 1996 he joined the board, and later served as Chairman, of Project GRAD USA, an inner-city education program that grew to serve 135,000 students annually across the United States. Additionally, he started Imagine College that served students in Nashville, and Seaside, California.

He has served on many boards, including formerly serving as Chairman of the Executive Committee of National Oilwell. He also serves on various Cockrell family boards.

Mac graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, Honors Program, with a degree in business administration.
