What is Reasoning Minds mission? Reasoning Mind is a non-profit that is using the Internet to dramatically improve the math achievement of children from disadvantaged communities. Thousands of children have benefited from our curricula, which not only teach basic math knowledge, but also develop students critical thinking skills. By working as a Program Coordinator for Reasoning Mind, you can make a difference for thousands of elementary school children from disadvantaged communities.
What is the Program Coordinator job all about? Program Coordinators are responsible for making the program a success at each school, helping teachers and school administrators get used to a completely new way of doing things. They are completely in charge of running the Reasoning Mind program at several schools. As a Program Coordinator, you will be assigned around 1,000 students and their teachers. Your job will be to do whatever it takes to help your teachers and students successfully implement the program. Program Coordinators are in classrooms daily, coaching and collaborating with teachers, and working with students.

Who are we looking for? To succeed as a Program Coordinator, you need to be independent, creative, and good at working with people. You dont need to have any prior work experience, and your college major doesnt matter. What does matter is that you have a passion for improving the education system and are willing to work hard to make a difference. We prefer individuals with the potential to grow quickly into management roles.

Because enrollment is growing exponentially, Reasoning Mind requires an increasing number of managers each year. All of the departments in Reasoning Mind prefer to hire individuals with experience as Program Coordinators, both for the leadership skills that the job develops and for the in-depth knowledge of Reasoning Mind that Program Coordinators have. Thus, after their three-year term of service ends, the best Program Coordinators are likely to receive job offers to join the organization as managers.

Locations. Locations of openings will depend on partnership agreements with schools. It is anticipated that most openings in 2010 will be in major cities in Texas, but other parts of the country will also be served. Currently, RM has programs in Houston, Dallas, St. Louis, New Orleans, and Los Angeles.
