The project’s results and impact
Reasoning Mind aimed to create an integrated set of tools that teachers could use either instead of or as a supplement to traditional classroom practices.

There were several goals set prior to beginning the pilot project:
  1. To show that the conceptual understanding of mathematical concepts, logical reasoning skills, and solid computational skills can and should be developed simultaneously.
  2. To demonstrate that all students in America could reach a proficiency level in mathematics if the instruction was carried out properly.
  3. To show that such instruction – when implemented through a solid methodology, uniting automated computer teaching with help from qualified tutors – could be effective in terms of the required investment.
  4. To demonstrate that this instruction could be delivered remotely over the Internet.
  5. To demonstrate that if mathematics is taught properly, it can be rewarding and fun, and that students attitudes towards the discipline will improve significantly.
